Getting started

Open Tack and find its icon in the menu bar.
Copy text or an image in another application.
Press Command-Shift-V or choose Show Clipboard History.
Search or filter for an item, preview it with Space if needed, then select it to copy or paste it.

Troubleshooting

Where is Tack after I open it?

Tack is a menu bar application, so it does not appear in the Dock. Look for the Tack icon in the menu bar.

Why is a copied item missing?

Make sure clipboard monitoring is not paused. Tack intentionally ignores content marked as concealed, transient, or automatically generated, along with content copied from an app on your Excluded Apps list.

Why was an item copied but not pasted automatically?

Open Tack Settings and enable Automatically paste into the previous app. If Tack shows Allow Automatic Paste, select it, enable Tack in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, then restart Tack. The permission is used only to send Command-V after you explicitly select an item.

How do I clear my clipboard history?

Choose Clear History from the Tack menu and confirm. Starred items stay until you delete them or choose Clear Starred. If iCloud Sync is on, deletions sync to your other Macs too.

How do I preview or edit a clipping?

Select a card and press Space to open the full preview. Once you have typed a search the space key belongs to the query, so use Command-Y instead. Press Command-E to edit text, Command-Return to save, or Escape to discard the current edit.

How does iCloud Sync work?

It is off by default. When enabled in Settings > iCloud, Tack stores history in your private CloudKit database so your Macs can share it. Turning sync off stops new uploads; Remove Synced History from iCloud removes the cloud copy without changing this Mac.

How do I manage or restore a Mac App Store subscription?

Open Settings > Billing to view your current plan, restore purchases, or open App Store subscription management. Monthly and Annual plans include the same Tack Pro features.

What happens if my direct subscription ends?

Tack stops recording and pasting, but your existing history stays readable and exportable. Choose Export History from the menu to save history.json and its Images folder.
